Stainless steel thimble for hard work on board
A thimble protects the rope from abrasion, but you may need to replace as time goes by. And you’ll find a good selection of thimbles in different sizes on this page. All are made of stainless steel – which is a good idea when sailing. Find the right size on the product page below. The thimble you should use is determined by the thickness of the mooring rope.
Splicing tool
A splicing tool is used to splice ropes or lines by hand, and when you need to open the strands and place a single strand in the locking position. Biltema sells a splicing tool in stainless steel, with a plastic handle and a length of 175 mm.
Mooring rope holder
Keep your lines and ropes well organised at your berth. You can mount the mooring rope holder on the boat dock or Y-boom with a cable tie or a screw/bolt. By using a rope holder, there is less risk that the ropes will come into contact with the propeller when you dock, and it also allows you to keep your ropes dry and free of algae.
