Corded or cordless glue gun?
A battery-powered glue gun is perfect when you need more manoeuvrability or don’t have access to an electrical socket. The disadvantage of battery-powered glue guns is the limited operating time. If you are going to use the glue gun for a longer period, you should therefore invest in an electric model.
Glue gun output and warm-up time
The output and warm-up time of the glue gun go hand in hand – the higher the output, the hotter it will be and the shorter the warm-up time. If your project requires a lot of glue, you can work more efficiently with a glue gun with a short warm-up time. That way, you don’t have to wait several minutes for it to warm up every time you insert a new glue cartridge.
Small or large glue gun?
Glue guns are available in two sizes – large and small. The size of the glue gun determines which glue cartridges you can use and how much hot-melt adhesive you can squeeze out in one trigger press. A smaller glue gun is therefore better suited for lighter crafts, while the larger version is better suited for heavier work.
