Stove fuel
Ethanol-based stove fuel or bioethanol is an environmentally friendly fuel made from renewable raw materials such as corn, sugar, and potatoes. Stove fuel burns with a clear flame and it burns cleanly without producing smoke, soot or ash, making it an excellent choice for indoor use for your ethanol stove. While burning, the ethanol fuel is converted into carbon dioxide and water.
Important to consider when using stove fuel
- Only use high-quality bioethanol to ensure clean burning and to avoid harmful residues.
- Although bioethanol burns cleanly, the room should be well ventilated to avoid carbon dioxide build-up.
- To avoid the risk of fire, allow the stove to cool completely before adding more fuel.
Lamp oil
The lamp oil in our range is paraffin-based fuel which is ideal for use with oil lamps and lanterns. Lamp oil burns with a clear flame and does not emit soot or odours, and is suitable for use both indoors and outdoors. Suitable wick length: approx. 2 mm.
Important to consider when using lamp oil
- Make sure to use oil specifically designed for oil lamps to avoid smoke and soot.
- Fill the oil when the lamp is turned off and cold to minimise the risk of fire.
- Keep lamp oil in a cool and dark place, out of reach of children and pets.
Kerosene
You can also use kerosene to light your stove, kerosene stove, or outdoor lanterns such as oil lamps. Kerosene is carefully refined to remove contaminants and provide the cleanest possible burning. This reduces the risk of smoke and soot during use. Kerosene has a long burn-time, making it effective for lighting and heating uses.
Frequently asked questions about fuel
What type of fuel should I use in my ethanol stove?
Use only high-quality bioethanol intended for ethanol stoves. Bioethanol is an environmentally friendly and pure-burning fuel made from renewable resources such as sugar and corn. Using the right fuel ensures effective and safe burning without producing smoke, soot or harmful gases.
What type of oil is best for oil lamps?
Use lamp oil specifically designed for oil lamps. This oil is refined to burn cleanly and slowly, reducing the risk of smoke and soot. Using the right type of oil improves both the safety and efficacy of your oil lamp.
